Description

This unique bass is a 2015 Elfin Hollowbody Fretless, built by the boutique company Martin Keith Guitars in Woodstock, NY. The Elfin 5-string is a fully hollow instrument with a 3 depth, sitka spruce top with AAA-grade European curly maple. This bass according to Martin Keith was the first ever built in this design, featuring the bent sides and acoustic-style construction! The fingerboard and bridge are matching Macassar ebony. The pickups are a magnetic pickup in the neck position, combined with a piezo bridge, for blending both EBO-style warmth with crystal clear acoustic sounds. This bass is unique in that the bass has a high C-string, instead of the usual low B found on 5-strings. The bass is in overall excellent condition – the top shows some rippling near the bridge, with some warping to the top – the bridge however is fully stable and not loose or moving around, and includes a heavy duty road case!
